9:00 AM at Welcome Station of the park
Hike along easy trail near farm to fern and moss-encrusted forest of large cottonwoods, Douglas fir, cedar and alder. Photograph magnificent old maple with nearly a dozen separate trunks. Its hollowed base holds a cave large enough to climb inside. Wildlife observation opportunities, especially for eagle watching. Meeting location will be at the Welcome Station of the park. I'll be camping there all weekend. Up to three other tent campers may join my site at no additional cost (first-come, first served). You are welcome to join me for the entire weekend or show up for the one day. Go to https://secure.camis.com/WA/ to make camping reservations, if desired. I'll be staying at site #20.
