Day Hike - Rampart Ridge Loop

Join the Tacoma Singles Activities Committee. This loop begins with the Wonderland Trail out of Longmire, then coming back on the Rampart Ridge Trail which eventually breaks out of the forest revealing a breathtaking view of Mount Rainier. On the return we’ll take the Trail of the Shadows interpretive trail that makes a .7 mile loop around a wetland, hot springs and replica of James Longmire’s cabin, for a 5.2 mile hike in total.

Trailhead facilities: bathrooms, water, visitor center, park concession.

This hike was open (clear of snow) at the time of posting, many trails higher up at Paradise are not yet clear.  Be sure to be prepared for cold and/or wet weather with rain gear, extra clothes, stocking hats/beanies, extra gloves, etc.

As always: The trip could be cancelled or moved if weather or trail conditions are unsafe on the trip date, including snow/ice covering the trails or forecasts indicating a high chance of snow.
