TRIP DESCRIPTION: This is a wonderful hike in the Sunrise area of Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park that has views from the trailhead all the way to the lookout at 7200'.  It's 5.6 miles round trip and 800 ft. gain.

The trail is in the open so please be prepared with sunscreen and lots of water.

The hike will be taken at a moderate pace (av. 2 mph moving speed). It's important that we can all keep together in one group. So if you think this pace may be too slow or two fast for you it may not be a good choice. in view of the high elevation starting at 6,400 ft. for those of us acclimatized to sea level living even 1,000 ft. of elevation gain in under 3 miles can be a bit of a challenge. So a good level of fitness and stamina is required. We will have breaks along the trail for water and snacks, clothing adjustments etc.

Full trip details including carpool information provided by participants who have set their profiles to "Open" will be emailed as soon as registration closes at 5 pm on Aug. 9. PLEASE LOOK OUT  FOR THIS EMAIL!
