We will hike from the Ira Spring trailhead (2,200ft.) up the Ira Spring Memorial Trial over Bandera Ridge (4,200 ft.) about 3 miles out and drop down to imposing Mason Lake. From there we will continue west up to first Rainbow Lake with a view of Blazer Lake down to the north. Then we will reach the larger Island Lake approximately 5 miles out. This will be our lunch spot. We will return by the same routes. it's a great and varied trail to hike with five wonderful lakes to see!

In all, this will be an approximately 10 mile round trip hike with 2,550 feet of elevation gain. I'm aiming for a moderate average moving pace of about 2 mph. This will require a high level of fitness and stamina.
