Day Hike - Pratt Vista

After Hours Conditioning Hike at a Moderate Pace

  • Strenuous
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 8.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,000 ft
  • Pace: 2 mph

5:00 PM, Forest Service Pass required.

This is the longest of our after-hours hikes. Our goal is the Olallie Lake overlook. The water crossings and woods are beautiful, there is a nice view of Mt. Rainier at our dinner spot if we get a clear evening. Bring a sack dinner. We will hike at a moderate pace (approx. 2 mph), our goal is to condition for summer hikes and finish in daylight. All hikers must be capable of that pace and carry a headlamp just in case.

I am allowing one dog and only one dog on this hike. I have hiked outside the club with Raven and seen that she has a good owner who keeps her close on a leash and packs out the bag. The roster size is the number of heartbeats, human or not. I have factored Raven in the count. I expect the rest of the roster to fill up with people. Do not bring your pet. People with allergies, use your own judgement.
