Day Hike - Poo Poo Point via High School Trail

Enjoy a 6.6 mile round trip from the lower realms of Tiger Mountain to the top of Poo Poo Point. Weather permitting we'll enjoy views of the Issaquah lowlands and hang gliders. Hike will be led at a 2-2.5 mph pace, including uphill portions. This will be a mentored hike.

  • Moderate/Strenuous
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 8.45 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,100 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 2,021 ft
  • Pace: 2.0-2.5

Our group will meet ready to hike at 8:30am at the High School Trailhead. Please note there are NO facilities at the trailhead, so plan accordingly!

Driving directions to the Northern entrance of High School Trail: Take exit 17 off I-90 and head south on Front Street, through the old part of town (use facilities here if needed). Turn left at the light at Sunset Way and in 2 blocks turn right on 2nd Ave SE. In about 0.3 miles, turn left on SE Evans St. The pavement ends beyond 4th Pl SE - watch out for the impressive potholes! Follow SE Evans St as it eventually bends sharply to the right, and beyond the Sportsmen's Club, deadends at the High School trailhead. There is room for about 6 cars here, and plenty more along the wide shoulders of the approaching street. There is no pass needed to park at this TH.

This trip will proceed rain or shine, but will be cancelled for high winds. The trail may be muddy, slushy or snowy depending on the winter weather, but conditions will be monitored and hikers will be updated as to what extra equipment might be helpful (ie micro spikes). Poles would be helpful on this hike regardless. One last note - this will be a mentored hike.
