Day Hike - Poo Poo Point via Chirico Trail

Poo Poo Point via High School Trail: Join us for a moderately paced day hike to the (most?) popular spot in the Issaquah Alps! We will follow the quieter and longer approach to Poo Poo Point via High School Trail.

  • Mileage: 7.9 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,067 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 2,021 ft
  • Pace: 1.5-2.0 mph

We will meet at the Issaquah High School parking lot (700 2nd Ave SE, Issaquah) at 9am; boots on trail at 9:15am. This is a convenient parking spot with no pass requirements and guaranteed availability, since the High School Trailhead parking lot can only accommodate 4-5 cars.

We will hike to Poo Poo Point, the popular paragliding launching spot on beautiful Tiger Mountain, in the Issaquah Alps. To avoid weekend crowds, we will take the quieter but longer High School Trail, with 7.2 miles round-trip and approximately 1,900 ft elevation gain. At a moderate pace (1.5-2.0 mph) with quick hourly rest stops, it should take us 4-5 hours of moving time, plus a well-deserved lunch break at the top.
