Day Hike - Point Defiance Park
Hike a five mile loop with 300 feet elevation gain through one of the USA's largest city parks, seeing a variety of forest vegetation and multiple views of Puget Sound and having lunch at a sheltered picnic table overlooking Puget Sound.

Meet at 9 AM in the parking lot by the tennis courts near the main entrance to Point Defiance Park at the north end of Pearl Street.
We will hike counter clockwise on the longest of three loop trails in Point Defiance Park, with brief stops at Ft. Nisqually and Gig Harbor Viewpoint and a lunch stop at Owen Beach, returning to our cars via the concrete promenade. Restrooms are available at the meeting place and the three stopping points, which are about a half hour apart.
