Day Hike - Point Defiance Park

Explore one of the largest forested city parks in the USA, on a loop hike passing by four scenic viewpoints and three other points of interest, including the Mountaineers Tree, with lunch in the Ft. Nisqually picnic area.

Meet at 10 AM in the parking area near the Duck Pond inside the N. Pearl Street entrance to Point Defiance Park.  No parking pass is required. 

We will hike a counter clockwise loop on the outer trail around the park, passing through the Japanese Garden, and the Rhododendron Garden, and by the Mountaineers Tree, and the Vashon, Dalco, Gig Harbor and Bridge viewpoints before arriving at the Ft. Nisqually picnic area for lunch.  Restrooms are available near the meeting place, at the Gig Harbor Viewpoint and by the Ft. Nisqually picnic area.
