Day Hike - Poe Mountain

A scenic hike to the summit of a former lookout site among the Poet peaks . There are great views of North Cascades peaks and wildflower fields . The strenuous route is listed and we may choose the alternate moderate Irving Pass route .

There will be two carpooling locations for this hike.  Green Lake Park and Ride  ,North of 65th under the freeway will be one location. The other is the smokestack , North Ann Street in Monroe is the other . Turn right on North Ann from Hwy 2 . I will drive to Green Lake Park and Ride , arriving at 5:15 am and departing at 5:30 am to Monroe. The Monroe carpooling hikers should arrive at 6:15 am and departing to the Nason Creek rest area at 6:30 am . Plan to arrive at the Rest Area by  7:45 am , and leaving for the trail head at 8:00 am . Drive Hwy 2 to Nason Creek  Rest Area . Then five miles on Hwy 2 to Coles Corner . Turn left , North, onto St. Route 207 , signed for Lake Wenatchee , and proceed 4.2 miles to a Y intersection after crossing the Wenatchee River. Bear left onto North Shore Road. At 7.6 miles ,after passing the ranger station and crossing the White River , the road becomes Forest Road 65. Continue West on FR 65 for 14 miles to the roads end at the trailhead .
