This is a makeup opportunity for Introduction to Backpacking students to carry their overnight pack weight on a real trip or for students that may want some additional experience carrying their weighted pack. Leader's permission is required to join this trip. Preference to backpacking course students for registration until May 9 at 8am, then open to all.
Here's a thigh burner for all those go-getters that want some elevation training with a weighted pack. We will stick to mostly trails on our ascent to the replica lookout tower for some nice views of the Enumclaw valley. If it is a clear evening we will pause briefly for the Mt. Rainier view but our destination will be the lookout at the top of the peak. This is a short but steep trip so be prepared for the distance and gain before you sign up. Trail map here.
