I hiked this trail two weeks ago and it's all under snow. Micro spikes or yak trax are necessary at this point, and hiking poles are recommended. It's a steep grade for the first 1.5 miles, so we will take it a pace good for everyone.
The drive is straightforward: 1-5 North, Exit 246, you take an immediate right and then another right on Old Samish Rd, and in three miles you arrive at the trailhead. No pass is needed at this one.
