Interested in an easy social hike to an alpine lake? Want to try out a new backpacking recipe or looking for new backpacking meal ideas? Join me for a Backcountry Potluck lunch, where we will each bring and/or prepare a meal to share with the group. The hike to Pete Lake provides a big payoff for very little effort--this trail gains only 200' on its way to a pretty alpine lake with mountain views. We'll hike at a social pace and reach Pete Lake in time for lunch. You won't need to prepare a large dish, since we will all be sampling a little bit of several foods. Choose a favorite recipe of your own creation (please bring 11 copies of your recipe to share with the group!) or bring a pre-packaged meal. Breakfast ideas welcome, too! Each participant should bring eating utensils (plate, bowl, spoon, fork, cup, napkin) and the cookware and stove necessary to create your dish. No stove? No worries! Contact me if you don't have a stove but want to join in on this trip. Email is the easiest way to reach me. No phone calls after 9:00 p.m. please!
