July 18, Wed. – Mt. Forgotten Meadows (S) (GT – Sloan Peak #111) NWFP 8 mi, 3,100’gain. Moderate pace. The trail to the meadows ascends, steeply at times, through botanical richness of a Natural Research Area, above a waterfall, and crosses Perry Creek on boulders. The hike is strenuous with stretches of rocky trail and fields of heather and lupine. The views are spectacular near the top – Glacier Peak, Big Four, Twin Peaks, Mt. Dickerman, and Stillaguamish Peak. Limit of 12 hikers. The Perry Creek trailhead shares the same parking lot as the Mt. Dickerman trail.
