Meet at 9 AM at the Highlander Bar and Grill, 30319 WA-706, Ashford.  Restrooms are available there.  Carpooling should be completed before arriving there.  We are meeting there to be sure that each car has someone in it with a National Park Pass required for admission to the Park.  At this point, people can switch cars to make that happen.  Any car without a National Park Pass will have to pay a $30 fee to enter the park.

This is an opportunity to visit the best alpine scenery in Mount Rainier National Park when the snow is all melted, the weather is still warm and the summer crowds have left.  From the Highlander Bar and Grill we will caravan to the Nisqually Entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park, where each car will need to show a National Park Pass and photo ID to verify the owner of the pass is in the car.  From there we will drive past Longmire and the Stevens Canyon Road junction to the Paradise parking lot.  We'll meet there in front of the Jackson Visitor Center, where maps can be purchased if needed.

The hike will start uphill rather steeply before easing its grade enroute to Glacier View and Panorama Point, our lunch spot.  There is a pit toilet there.  We'll return by the same route.

On the drive home there is the option for a refreshment stop.
