Aug. 26, Tues. – Panther Creek/Fourth of July Pass (S) (GT Diablo Dam #48 and Mt. Logan #49), NWFP, 11.5 mi., 2,000’ gain. Moderate pace. Views of Colonial Peak, Neve Glacier and Snowfield Peak. A one-way hike up cascading Panther Creek in a lush, deep canyon between Ruby and Beebee Mountains to Fourth of July Pass. We then descend to Thunder Creek trail. Car shuttle. This is part of the Annual North Cascades Car Camp from August 25-27, Mon.-Wed. Join us for three days of hiking in the spectacular North Cascades. Explore the unique geology of this region. We will camp two nights at Colonial Creek Campground just off the North Cascades Highway. It is suggested that participants also camp Sunday night due to the travel distance and early hike start time the following day.
