6:45 AM at Kent Desmoines P&R

Social Paced Slow hike to an incredibly beautiful viewing point above Paradise at Mt Rainer at 6,800 feet. We will skirt Alta Vista, pass more flowers than you can point a stick at, and go even higher above the Point to the Skyline Trail at 7,000 feet. This is a Loop, and we will see flowers going up and down. There will be fun snow to make our way thru, but nothing that should worry you. Now is the time to be there. Take I-5 South or North to exit 149. Get off, and head East thru 2 stop lights to Military Road. Turn left (North) and see the park n ride on the left. Look for a blue pickup. From this P&R, it is a 170 mile round trip to Paradise. Figure on a max of 12 cents per mile per car pooler. That is a bargain!!!! We will stop for Ice Cream on the way back in Ashford. Those needing to drive direct can meet us at the Paradise Visitors Center between 9:15 and 9:45. You must let me know if you plan to do this direct trip. Plan on having a great day. This trip is a substitute for Snowgrass Flats. Park entrance fee is split amoung the cars participants. Pics from 2 weeks ago....http://www.nwhikers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7968712
