Oct. 1, Sat. - Skyline Trail (E/M) (USGS MRNP - GT 270 Mt. Rainier E) 5.3 mi., 1700' gain. Limit 12. SLOW-paced hike to enjoy late season views of Mt. Rainier, Tatoosh Range and the Cascades. Bring camera and warm clothes. Leader's permission required. Sign up with leader, Liz Escher, 253-475-1022 or eaescher@yahoo.com. (9/15 - 9/29) So we can all have a safe, fun trip, everyone is required to carry the Ten Essentials, and be properly attired - no cotton, no blue jeans, no sneakers or lumbar packs. If you have not hiked with me before, when you contact me about signing up for my hike (via phone or email), please be ready to provide the following information: your full name, telephone number, whether you are a member (what branch and for how long), what your hiking experience is (both with and outside of The Mountaineers), and where you live so I can figure out carpooling. Also, we are entering a National Park. If carpooling, please be prepared to pay for part of the driver's entry permit and $.15 per mile for gas and wear and tear to the vehicle. We may stop for a snack after the hike.
