Day Hike - Panhandle Gap

Summerland-Panhandle Gap is a strenuous day hike to one of the most scenic areas of the Mt. Rainier National Park. At about 6800 feet Panhandle Gap is the highest elevation reached by the Wonderland Trail. Come to see the Summerland meadows, Panhandle snowfields, and the "Majestic Mountain".

We will have at least one carpool from the Olympia-Lacey area at early morning departure.

Following the Wonderland Trail, we will be hiking to Summerland and and then on up to Pandhandle Gap. A description of the hike is available at http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/pandhandle-gap.  Good physical condition is a must. More details will come via email closer to the date of the hike.
