Day Hike - Oyster Dome–North Butte–Samish Overlook Loop

Meet at the PNT trailhead (Oyster Dome, Blanchard Mtn.) on Hwy 11 (Chuckanut Drive) near MP 10 at 8:30 a.m.

July 28, Wed. – Oyster Dome, North Butte, Samish Overlook Loop, (USGS Bow & Bellingham S., however, Square One Maps, Chuckanut Recreations Area is far superior). Est. 10.5 mi., 2,500’+ gross elev. gain. Our Wednesday trip avoids the crowds and parking difficulties of the weekends. This trip involves a short distance of unmaintained trail. Pace will be moderate. A treat to share is always welcome. Party limit 8. Meet at the PNT trailhead (Oyster Dome, Blanchard Mtn.) on Hwy 11 (Chuckanut Drive) near MP 10 at 8:30 a.m. Parking is very difficult hence the early start.      On a sad note, this may be one of the last times to hike Blanchard Mountain and Oyster Dome. Unless the State Legislature finds funds, the DNR will be forced to contract for the cutting of most of the mountain’s trees.
