Day Hike - Notch Pass

A strenuous 9 mile round trip hike with 2,900 feet of elevation gain. The trail switchbacks up steeply through forests and over Quilcene Ridge and down to Bark Shanty Camp.

We will meet at the Quilcene Visitor/Ranger Station at 8:00am on Saturday March 25th.

Come join us for a hike of Notch Pass trail near Quilcene. Scenery along the trail includes trees, more trees, and moss. It's usually quiet and peaceful, with relatively few visitors. We'll go from the lower trailhead to the Big Quilcene River. This moderately difficult trail is uphill both ways for a total of about 2,900 feet of elevation gain. Round trip is about 9 miles. Our pace will be moderate at about 2 mph overall, including breaks. With lunch this trip will take about 4.5-5 hours.
