Meet at 10:30 AM in the Nisqually State Park parking lot on Mashel Prairie/Medical Springs Road, reached fromI-5 by exiting eastbound onto SR 512, south at the first exit (Steele St.), left at the traffic light onto the Spanaway Curve Road, left onto the Cross Base Highway, right at SR 7 (Pacific Avenue) and continuing 19.6 miles south to the Mashel Prairie Road, where you turn right and follow the signs to the park.  A Discover Pass must be displayed by each car parked at the State Park parking lot.  A restroom is located there.

We will hike from the parking lot on a trail to the Nisqually River, where we have our trail lunch.  The we return initially by the same route, turning off half way onto a loop trail that takes us through a change of scenery on the way back to the parking lot.  There is a restroom at the parking lot, but not elsewhere on the hiking route.  There will be multiple opportunities for bathroom breaks in the woods during the hike.
