Meet at 10:30 AM in the Nisqually State Park parking lot on Mashel Prairie/Medical Springs Road, reached from I-5 by turning east onto SR 512, south at the first exit (Steele St.), left at the traffic light onto southbound Spanaway Loop Road, right (south) at Pacific Ave (SR 7), continuing 19.6 miles to the Mashel Prairie Road, where you turn right and follow the signs to the park.
There is a restroom by the parking lot, but those wanting a food stop before the hike may want to stop at nearby Eatonvelle, where a Subway Restaurant is open for breakfast. A Discover Pass must be dislayed by each car parked at the trailhead parking lot.
