6:00 PM at Nisqually Delta Visitor Center
We will walk the new Nisqually Estuary boardwalk trail that opened this winter. It provides excellent opportunities for observing wildlife and birds and showcases tidal changes. The trail features an observation tower and a viewing platform at the end of the boardwalk that provides a 360 degree view of McAllister Creek, the Olympics, Mount Rainier and several islands in Puget Sound. There is a $3 per car vehicle charge. Kick start your weekends by joining one of the Naturalist Thurston Thursday hikes. Thurston Thursdays is a series of hikes on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays throughout the summer. Hikes will begin at 6pm and will explore a different County, State or DNR park, recreation area or preserve.
