Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge

Day Hike - Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge

We will hike the Boardwalk first looking for shorebirds and others, then work back through the forested area. The tide should be coming in during the morning and birding can be good when it is between mid and high tide. This is a Naturalist Hike and we will take our time.

Meet at 7:30 AM at the 65th Street Park and Ride. Will carpool from the northern part of the parking lot, under the I 5 Overpass.  We should arrive at the Refuge between 9 AM and 9:15 AM. Let me know if you want to meet us there.

The shorebirds, gulls, and geese should be around. I'm hoping to spend some time on the gulls if they cooperate. Bring lunch, Bring rain gear, and if you have a spotting scope that could be helpful. Binoculars are critical.
