Meet at 9 AM at the Silverdale Burger King, 9770 Silverdale Way NW, Silverdale, reached from Tacoma by driving west and then north on SR 16, continuing north on SR 3, exiting eastbound at Newberry Hill Road, left at the roundabout onto Silverdale Way NW northbound, finding Burger King on your right after a short drive.

From Burger King, we will caravan to the trailhead parking lot, reached by heading south on Silverdale Way NW, right on NW Newgberry Hill Road and left on Tieton PL NW, where we park in the parking lot before reaching the gate leading to Klahowya Secondary School.  Maps of the park are available at a kiosk by the trailhead.  There are restrooms at the meeting place (Burger King), but not at the trailhead or on the hike.  Bathroom breaks will be taken during the hike as needed.  No parking pass is required at the trailhead.

Our hike will take a meandering route designed to allow us to explore the most scenic parts of the park.  Our lunch stop will be at the viewpoint overlooking the most impressive lake in the park.  We'll have an optional refreshment stop after the hike at the Bremerton Dairy Queen, near the junction of SR 3 and Kitsap Way.
