Meet at 9 AM at the Silverdale Burger King, 9770 Silverdale Way NW, Silverdale, reached from Tacoma by driving west on SR 16 across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, bearing right at Gorst onto SR 3 and right (east) onto Newberry Hill Road, left at the roundabout onto Silverdale Way NW and finding Burger King on your right after a short drive.

From Burger King we will caravan to the trailhead, reached by heading south on Silverdale Way NW, right on NW Newberry Hill Road and left on Tieton Pl NW, where we park in the parking lot before reaching the gate leading to Klahowya Secondary School.  Maps of the park are available at a kiosk by the parking lot, but there are no restrooms there, only at Burger King and Dairy Queen.  During the hike there will be multiple opportunities for bathroom breaks in the woods.   No parking pass is required for this hike.  We'll have an optional stop at the Bremerton Dairy Queen, near the junction of SR 3 and Kitsap Way, for refreshments after the hike.
