The Multnomah/Wakeena trail leads us past two of the Gorge's most gorgeous waterfalls as well as several others.  We will see plunge, tiered, horsetail, fan and block type of falls on this 5.2 mi hike.  Then we will drive a short distance to the Horsetail Falls trailhead and hike the 2.7 mi Ponytail falls loop

Note:  There are some areas of exposure on this trail with steep drop-offs.

Participants are responsible for their own transportation and lodging, It is a 3-4 hr drive from the Seattle area.

Leader will be camping at Beacon Rock State Park (#15).   Currently there are many sites open.

My style:  I am adventurous, curious and love to be "awed" by Nature.  As a leader, I tend to the quieter side and my style is more relaxed.  While I love to hike, I am also willing to make space for picture-taking, flowers, critters, geology, culture and views along the way.   I value the journey as much as the destination and strive to foster hiking as a wholistic experience (body, soul, spirit).

Meet at the Multnomah Falls trailhead at 9am

NW Forest pass required for parking.  Vehicles will need a timed entry permit available from Recreation.gov.  Permits may be requested 14 days before use.   Multnomah Falls (I-84) Timed Use Permit, Multnomah Falls (I-84) Timed Use Permit - Recreation.gov

It will be optimal if we can consolidate cars/hikers into as few vehicles as possible.
