If the weather is clear, the views are great. If not, the workout is still great! We'll certainly encounter snow on the upper part of the trail. Yaktraks, microspikes or other traction devices required. Poles, gaiters and over the ankle boots highly recommended. Be sure to bring warm clothes to put on when we stop at the top. We'll plan to return via the Great Wall Trail for a 10 mile round trip. As always, but especially in winter, destination subject to change depending on weather conditions.
Required Gear: Traction devices (such as YakTrax or Microspikes), Non Cotton clothes, Rain jacket, rain pants, warm jacket, warm gloves or mittens, warm hat, snacks, lunch, boots, gaiters, sit pad, headlamp.
Recommended: Hiking poles, umbrella, dry shirt to change into at top, map and compass.
