Day Hike - Mount Walker

This is a timed 2-peat Walker for the Kitsap Basic Climbing program to test conditioning and readiness to join a climb. Kitsap basics and instructors have permission to sign up now.

  • Elevation Gain: 4,000 ft

Meet at the Mt Walker parking area at 0800.  Walk up to TH.  The timed portion begins at the TH.  Put 40# - 45# in your pack - we will weight it at the parking lot.  Bring a watch to  keep track of your own time.  I will be the official timer for credit.  Bring food, water, electrolytes to sustain yourself. Dress appropriately for the days expected weather.  Your pack weight into a typical glacier climb will be over 50# and you will have to carry a rope that may weigh as much as 10# wet.  

You can drop your pack weight to 25# at the TH sign for the second lap.
