This conditioner hike series is an awesome way to stay close to home to get maximum miles and elevation with folks from our branch. Not only is it a conditioner hike, but it is a way to build solid community among us, and a bonus with the encouragement from each other and satisfation of completion. Walker is a solid 2-mile up to the first vista with 2,000 foot elevation gain. When we start doing the repeats this becomes a mental game where you are challenged not to be tempted to just head to the car and head home. The pack changes the whole dynamic and increases the condtioning to simulate climbs such as Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainier and others. Granted we will not have elevation or contiuous elevation miles but it is a great way to test our hydration, nutrition, endurance, gear, and conditioning, this is huge to have established before a major hike to avoid altitude sickness, dehydration, gear malfunctions, and/or lack of nutrition…

QUAD-WALKER 4-peat 1st time up with full pack 35+++++ then the other 3 with 20ish pounds….. (Estimated time: 8 - 9 hours) (to first Vista & back) 16-miler 8,000 ft elevation gain.
