8:00am, North Viking Transit Center and Park & Ride, 21992 Viking Ave, Poulsbo WA. This is the NEW transit center, across the street from the Church of the Nazarene.  Note: if anyone is coming from Seattle and would like to walk on the ferry, we can pick up a limited number at the Bainbridge terminal.  Contact leader for more information.

This will be a "key exchange" hike to Mt. Townsend, with (weather permitting) great views of Hood Canal, Sequim, Port Angeles, Port Townsend, and the Olympic Mountains.  We will divide into 2 groups of 5.  Group 1 will start at the Little Quilcene trail head.  Group 2 will take the traditional Mt. Townsend trail.  The two groups will meet at the summit for lunch, exchange car keys, then continue on to the other trail head.  The total mileage will be about the same as a round trip, but you will get to experience twice the terrain.  If you are registering  with another person, let us know so we can put you in the same group.

The Kitsap Mountaineers would like to remind you that the main reason we enjoy hiking together is to meet new people, and for the camaraderie and safety that comes with a group hike. When people cancel at the last minute, even if there is a waiting list, usually those folks are not going to join the group with little notice. When there are multiple cancellations, the sometimes much smaller group size diminishes the experience for those remaining. Therefore we would really appreciate it that you sign up for this hike only if you are serious about participating. If you register, the leader considers that you have made a commitment, that should be cancelled only in case of illness or emergency. Mountaineer hikes go rain or shine. Thank you for your understanding. Please see this link for more information:
