This is a great hike to self-assess your fitness level at the beginning of hiking/scrambling/climbing season. Goal is for the group to reach the base of the haystack in under 2 hours 15 minutes. Poor trail conditions (ie: ice) mean that we will throw the time goal out and go at whatever pace conditions warrant. Leader update 02/12/09. Carly has tendinitis in her foot. A co-leader is desired. Any leader may sign up as co-leader. No permission from me necessary. If the pain is too much, Carly will stay in the back and give out two-way walkie-talkie radios to the group.
