Day Hike - Mount Rose (winter)

Thursday, April 18. Expect to gain 3,500 feet in 3.5 miles. The winter gate will probably be open, but if it is closed we will need to walk the additional 1.4 miles to/from the trailhead. That will make the total return trip about 11 miles in length. Map: USGS Skokomish. You will need your pack and the 10 essentials. If you have them, please also bring your crampons, ice ax, snowshoes, and ski poles. Dress for the weather.

  1. 7am, 6th Ave Park and Ride

     S.6th and MacArthur, adjacent to Swasey Library

     Tacoma (Carpools formed here)

          OR

  1. 8:30am, Mt.Rose trailhead

     12 miles from Hoodsport, WA

     You will need your pack (35 pounds if you need credit for a conditioner) and the 10 essentials.  If you have them, please also bring your crampons, ice ax, snowshoes, and ski poles.  Dress for the weather.
