A friendly pre-conditioner for Olympia scrambling students.

  • Pace: 800-1000 ft/hour

TBD depending on conditions. Likely at the trailhead no later than 9 AM. 

This is a pre-conditioner for the Olympia Alpine Scrambling course. This is intended to be a baseline hike for scrambling students - to figure out what you need to work on in order to be ready for the conditioner. We will go at a pretty steady pace up Mt. Rose. This trip likely will not meet requirements for the course conditioner - but it will be a good fitness hike to get you ready for scrambling.

Microspikes and/or snowshoes may be required, depending on conditions. 

Hiking/trekking poles are strongly recommended. There will likely be snow up top, so you'll want to keep your snow baskets on.
