This is a pre-conditioner for the Olympia Alpine Scrambling course. This is intended to be a baseline hike for scrambling students - to figure out what you need to work on in order to be ready for the conditioner, or ready for scrambling. We will go at a pretty steady pace up Mt. Rose. We will aim for conditioner pace of 2:32 to the top, and see how we do. If we make that pace, this will count as a course conditioner. It'll be a great fitness hike to give you a baseline for conditioning even if we don't make that pace.
If you're feeling a little intimidated by the conditioning requirements for the course, this is a good hike for you. Co-leaders are friendly and encouraging! Please reach out if you have questions. To sign up, please send Anna an email at the email address listed on her profile.
Olympia scrambling students have priority, followed by scramble students from all branches working on conditioning, followed by all members. I will open it up if I have space available. NOTE: If you are not a scrambling student, please do not contact me to register until March 11th. Thank you.
