We'll start at the Heart Lake trailhead, take in the views from Sugarloaf and then loop around the south side of Mt. Erie through the Anacortes Community Forest Lands.

  • Pace: 1.5 to 2 mph

We'll meet at 6:15 am, ready to depart at 6:30 am, at the South Hill Park and Ride, 9th Street SW and 31st Avenue SW (formerly known as 94th Street SW and 104 Street E - the City of Puyallup incorporated the area, hence the new street names and confusion). This is the Park & Ride on the north side of Hwy 512 and we'll meet in the NW area of the lot, look for the red Ford Explorer.  Carpools are encouraged but not required.  If you choose to drive, no parking permit is required for this area.

This is a new area for me and may have some navigation challenges, I recommend bringing along the 11th and 12th essentials of a sense of adventure and a sense of humor.  I've heard that the views are better from Sugarloaf, so we will skip the Mt. Erie summit but can take a drive up afterward, time and group desire permitting.  We may also stop for a quick, post-hike treat before the long drive back.
