Mount Ellinor

Day Hike - Mount Ellinor

We'll start at the lower trailhead to get the full experience of this challenging hike. I have not done this trip before so bring along your 11th and 12th essentials of a sense of humor and sense of adventure as we explore the area.

COVID-19: Learn about our most up-to-date guidance for participants and leaders on our COVID-19 Response page. All participants and leaders must agree to the COVID-19 Code of Conduct before participating in this Mountaineers activity.

  • Mileage: 6.6 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 3,270 ft
  • Pace: 1.5 mph

We'll start hiking at 8:30 a.m., so please be at the lower trailhead by 8:15 a.m.  Carpools are encouraged as parking at this trailhead is limited, however, carpools are not required.  If you would like to ride with me, meet at the  South Hill Park and Ride at 5:50 a.m. for a 6:00  a.m. departure.  The South Hill Park & Ride is located at  9th Street SW and 31st Avenue SW (formerly known as 94th Street SW and 104th Street E - the City of Puyallup incorporated the area, hence the new street names and confusion).  This is the Park and Ride on the North side of Hwy 512, look for the red Ford Explorer.

According to the guidebook trekking poles are particularly useful as we approach the summit.  Also, I'll keep an eye on snow levels and let everyone know if microspikes are required.
