8:15 at Issaquah Park and Ride
This is a great July hike. We will go by Mason Lake then up Mt. Defiance. There usually are wild flowers blooming in the alpine meadows above the lake and there is a great view of several alpine lakes from the summit. The last part of the trail is narrow and steep. Meet at: 8:15am Issaquah Park and Ride: Off exit 15 in the Tibbetts parking lot. I will be leaving the P&R; promptly, so if you are late, go strait to the trailhead. 9:00am Trailhead: I-90 to exit #45 Bandera Airfield (there will be a sign for Forest Service Rd. 9030), left off exit ramp go 0.7 miles, then turn left onto Forest Service Rd. 9030. Go to the end of the road (~3.8 miles) park in the parking lot (the trail head).
