Day Hike - Mount David

Come enjoy outstanding views from a high peak (you did earn them after all)

  • Very Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 14.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 5,200 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 7,420 ft

*STRONGLY* recommend that everyone camps Thursday night for an early start Friday morning.  There's a small camping area close to the TH.  Once signup closes we'll try to coordinate travel plans.

Here's a nice description of the trip:  https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/mount-david

I'd like to get started hiking by 7am.

You will want to carry plenty of water for this trip.  Also- if one or more party members don't wish to make the final summit push, they may wait for the others.  Please be prepared with warm/wind-proof clothing should that include you.

Due to the length and very-strenuous nature of this trip, you need to get 'leader permission' to sign up.  However if you are a currently active scrambler or climber or hike leader, you are presumed to have that permission.  I will be away for the last week in August so responding to LPR emails will have to wait for my return.

This trip will depend on good weather/low smoke.  Wet weather / significant smoke will lead to my redirecting the trip to some other place, likely closer to Seattle (will request suggestions from participants should that happen).
