8:00 AM at Mt. Aix Trailhead
This hike is located near Bumping Lake, which is to the east of Mt Rainier. The trail is all about big views: of the Columbia Plateau, gigantic Mount Rainier, only slightly less gigantic Mount Adams, and the rugged Goat Rocks. A short stretch of trail will seem airy to those sensitive to heights, but it's very manageable; call leader if this is a concern. We will be hiking at a moderate pace, which means having the ability to travel a minimum of three miles per hour on flat terrain. Please do not register for this hike if you cannot hike at this pace.
