8:00am* at Greenlake (65th & I-5) P&R*

*For those coming from the Seattle area, we will meet at the Greenlake P&R (6601 8th Ave NE) at 8am. Then for those folks in the Everett area, we'll be meeting you at the Everett Station P&R (3201 Smith Ave) around 8:30am. The drive will take approximately 1.5 hours from Everett, although there is currently construction at the intersection of SR9 & SR92 which we'll have to detour around. The abandoned townsite of Monte Cristo has some interesting history, so we'll spend about an hour there for lunch + time to explore the relics that have been left behind. I'll be bringing my camera along & would encourage others with an interest in photography to bring their camera as well. The trail has experienced some damage in recent years and there is a bridge out, which means we'll be crossing the river via a large log with no handrails. I mention this because it may be a deal-breaker for some hikers. If this is a concern to you, I can email you some photos of this crossing to give you a better idea of the situation & then you can decide if you're up for the hike.
