Day Hike - Methow Valley Rodeo

Methow Valley Rodeo

1:00 PM at Green Lake Park & Ride North Side

Photograph cowboys and various rodeo events over Memorial Day Weekend.

Rodeo info can be found at http://www.methowvalleyrodeo.com.

Cost of admission is $10 (each day).

Plan is to meet at the park & ride at 1pm, head north with a stop at the Ash Way park & ride for people in the northend to join us. We'll head up I-5, then head west on WA-530 & WA-20 to Winthrop.

Car camping at Pine Near RV Park (they also have tent spots). The state park is full already, so make your reservations at this park ASAP so you get a spot! http://www.pinenearpark.com/. I am in spot #50. However, if three others want to share a tipi with me (they have a double futon and two single beds), the cost is $50/night (so $100 split 4 ways - only $25 each). That's if they are still available.

Everyone will be on their own for meals, however it might be nice to eat together at a restaurant in Winthrop Friday evening after we set up our tents or RVs. If you want to do this, let me know ASAP since I think reservations will be needed over this busy weekend.

Saturday, the rodeo doesn't start until 1pm, so we have the morning to explore the area. There are some great spots for bird photography in the area.

Head to the rodeo to arrive at 1pm and stay as long as you like.

You may stay longer if you want, but I plan to head back home mid-day on Sunday.

Note: This is my first time at this campground and rodeo, so keep that in mind...I will do research online, but won't know all the answers.
