Day Hike - Melakwa Lake

Hike to Two Beautiful Lakes in the Alpine Wilderness

  • Moderate/Strenuous
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 9.5 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,650 ft
  • Pace: 2 mph

This will be announced in the leader's welcome message. Expect an early start.

This is a nice hike in the fall as the crowds are gone from the Denny Waterslide. There is a new bridge to cross. We might be early for full fall color, but recent trip reports say that the leaves have started to turn. The lakes are beautiful, Chair and Kaleetan Peaks rise above.

My pace is moderate, approx. 2 mph while moving. That is the pace I will set.
