Day Hike - McLane Creek Nature Trail

Spring is a great time to visit McLane Nature Trail. This family hike is great for all ages and includes looking for newts and evidence of beavers and celebrating spring with the abundance of flowering plants and nesting birds. Binoculars, nets and special trail treats will help kids have fun!

We will spend time looking for newts and learning how to gently and safely handle them, as well as have spotters for any flowers that we see. We will  visit the beaver dams and see what other wildlife we can spot.  We will provide some kid and adult binoculars and spend time looking and listening to all the bird activity. 

Meet at the kiosk at the trail at 1:00pm.  Don't forget your Discover Pass.

Family Essentials:  All adults must bring a backpack with family essentials including a family first aid kit, water, bug spray and sun screen, snacks, spare clothing, and optional binoculars and flower and bird ID.

Kids should bring a small backpack with a waist strap for comfort and age appropriate basic supplies, including spare clothing and water.
