We will meet at 8:00 am at the North Bend Safeway parking lot close to the tall Safeway/O'Reilly Auto Parts/Chase Bank sign in the parking lot. It's close to I-90 exit 31.
There will be the option of either consolidating cars going to the trailhead or driving yourself. The road leading to the trailhead has many potholes, so a higher clearance vehicle and a Northwest Forest Pass will be needed for those driving to the trailhead
Directions to Trailhead: From Seattle, drive east on I-90 to exit 45. Turn left and cross under the highway, then veer left onto FR-9030. About one mile from the exit, stay left at the fork onto Mason Lake Road, FR-9031. Park in the lot at the end of this road, 3.8 miles from the highway. There is a privy at the trailhead
Mod/Strenuous 6 mile hike, but will go at a moderate pace with plenty of rest breaks as needed. Bring lunch and plenty of water and sturdy hiking shoes. Trekking poles will be helpful. May swim at lake if weather is good.
For safety we will all hike as a group so please assess before hand whether this distance/elevation gain/pace will suit you before registering.
