Green Trails Tyler Peak No. 136 This hike promises outrageous ridgetop views and potential for better weather than other locations outside the rainshadow. WTA hiking guide says that if you had to pick one hike in the Olympics this would be the one...and that says a lot! Due to the steep climb and shorter days in late September, this hike is for well conditioned hikers who can keep up a steady 2 - 2.5 mph pace with few rest stops. Dramatic weather changes are possible this time of year so full raingear and warm non-cotton layers will be essential. No special gear required but trekking poles are recommended to protect the knees in the steep downhills. Carpool details and associated meeting times will be worked out as the date gets closer.
