Marmot Pass & Buckhorn Mountain

Trip

Day Hike - Marmot Pass & Buckhorn Mountain

Classic Olympic hike, for good reason.

  • Very Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 11.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 3,800 ft

Meet at the Quilcene Ranger Station  @ 8:30AM - this will allow folks time to drive if taking the 7:10AM ferry from Edmonds.

This hike will be co-lead with Linda Kuramoto, ideally as a "twofer" with Mount Townsend the previous day. With breaks, moderate pace, flower-gazing and time at the summit, allow 8.5-9 hrs. Obviously, it's necessary to be in shape for this one - conditioning hikers welcome. Please note that given the time and effort to complete this  outstandingly scenic hike, it is weather-dependent - rain cancels.

Northwest Forest Pass required.
