Meet at 9:00 AM at Margaret's Way Trailhead ready to hike. This may be a different trailhead than what is listed on the Mountaineer's page for this location, so please follow these:
From I-90, take exit 15 signed Lake Sammamish/Renton Highway 900. At the stoplight at the end of the exit turn right onto Highway 900/Renton-Issaquah Road and go south toward Renton. From the stoplight drive 3.2 miles and turn left at the easy-to-miss driveway with a large blue Cougar Mountain Recreation sign. The large parking lot is straight ahead. Park in this lot -- do not continue through the gray gate.
Margaret's Way Trailhead
Trip will include stop at Debbie's View. We can also go to West Peak if group wants, but as I recall, the view is from Debbie's, not West Peak summit. Trip is 7.4 miles round trip and approx 1700 ft elevation gain.
Since this will involve approx 1700' elevation gain, please have done a hike with at least 1300' or so gain in the last few months.
Hike description here but doesn't include Debbie's View.
Please have clothing and snacks for a break at Debbie's View.
One (and only 1) leashed dog would be OK, if all those who have already signed up ahead of you are OK with a dog coming, IF you know Doggy can do this trip, and IF you keep Doggy leashed whole time and IF you bag and carry poop. (NO leaving poop bag on trail to pick up on return!)
Let me know if you are bringing a dog so I'll note here that we have our max of one dog coming.
If you prefer a dog-free hike, let me know that when you sign up and I'll delete this paragraph.
If anyone wants to carpool, we can meet at Tibbets Park and Ride, just south of Issaquah Transit Ctr.
If someone signs up to be assistant leader, I can up capacity a few more people.
