Please make arrangements to be at the beginning of the dirt road (where the gate to the Mailbox Trailhead is just above the upper parking lot) no later than 8:30 A.M.

Leaders plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior and will have a scale for those needing to verify their pack weight for conditioner requirements.

This conditioning hike is intended to help Olympia climbing/scrambling students complete their conditioner requirement. It is also a good excuse to get a strenuous workout in before the school year begins (or begin ski season conditioning for those of us oriented to winter sports). We will maintain a steady pace of at least 1,000 ft/hr with minimal breaks. We plan to ascend the old trail and descend the new trail. Please be aware that the old trail is steep and not maintained.
